Todays ensemble was a little more exciting than my usual jeans, t-shirt and blazer daily uniform and therefore, somewhat more worthy of sharing. It revolved around a piece that doesn’t pop up in my wardrobe very often, a skirt. And not just any skirt, a colourful one at that. As always, I hope sharing snapshots of my personal style can inspire you to find your personal style and to sometimes go about it with a creative, unconventional flair.
This whole outfit was built around this gorgeous royal blue rib knit detail skirt from Country Road. It features a simple pull-on waist with panel detailing and front splits. It is a truly beautiful piece. Fitting the waist tightly, it flows gorgeously into a midi length, while the ribbed knit and panel detailing works at slimming and elongating the legs and hips.
The top is a short sleeved, high neck top in a fabric featuring a more tightly ribbed knit from Bershka. A piece that has been in my wardrobe for a couple of years now, it is the perfect elevated staple for when you need something more than a plain t-shirt, while still maintaining the same level of comfort and convenience. Similar pieces here from Marks&Spencer and CUE.
These shoes are also some old favourites of mine. A staple of bloggers when they were available at Mango, they still look flawless years on. Mango stocks some beautiful pieces, especially when it comes to shoes. They have beautiful basics, but also some more exciting choices if you are so inclined. Check out a very similar design here.
For my makeup today I kept it minimal on the skin with no foundation, spot concealing with my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, setting the skin with the Laura Mercier Candleglow Perfecting Powder and adding a light wash of the Marc Jacobs O ! Mega Perfect Tan Bronzer on the cheeks.
I applied a winged liner with the Maybelline HyperSharp Liquid Eyeliner and applied the Maybelline Total Temptations mascara on my lashes. For the lips I used the MAC Lip Liner in Chestnut on its own.
