The colder seasons are in my opinion the absolute best. And it’s not just the fact that I don’t enjoy the 24/7 sweat season that is the Australian summer, even though it’s a pretty big part of it, I find that winter offers a greater opportunity for styling and expression through fashion, as instead of trying to wear as little as possible, we can layer and combine different pieces and textures in more creative ways.
The cold winds are finally upon us today and I am very excited to finally be pulling out the knitwear and coats that I love dearly, but sit in the back of my closet eight months of every year. It marks the first day this year that it was actually cold enough to necessitate some layering and the first time I could wear one of my beloved jumpers in a long time.

The Pieces
THE KNIT
The Weekday Wool Lizzie Jumper has been in my collection since last winter and is one of my favourites. With an oversized fit and ballooned sleeves, but snug neckline, it creates a nice silhouette, maintaining a clean and elevated look. The jumper is not too long making it perfect for a little french tuck into your favourite jeans. This jumper is now sold out, but check out these similar pieces from Weekday: The Paulina Sweater, The Tamia Sweater and The Sophie Sweater.
THE JEANS
My favourites and the only mom jeans now in my collection are the Weekday Lash Extra High Mom Jeans. With an extra high waist and decent space in the thighs, these jeans do a beautiful job of accentuating my waist while still being comfortable. Check out a previous blog post detailing what I look for when shopping for denim and some of my favourites here.
THE SHOES
My current go-to trainers are the Superga Cotu Classics in Taupe. Available in an array of colour options, they are very comfortable and add a classic, clean, old school vibe to any outfit. I have been wearing them consistently for around two years and they have stood the test of time, proof to the quality that Superga maintain in their products.
THE NAILS AND SUNNIES
The sunnies are The Bailey Nelson Barbara sunglasses in Cinnamon, now sold out. Check out these alternatives available now at LeSpecs and Quay.
As for the nails, I do my own gel manicures at home with this being the SensatioNail Gel Polish in the shade Blue Yonder. Let me know if anyone wants to see a blog post on how I do my own gel manicures at home in the comments!

Love the jumper!
