Having tried an array of face creams over time, I have found that my skin likes consistency. Playing around with fancy new skincare, always on the hunt for what could cause that unattainable miraculous overnight perfect skin is fun and exciting, but not ideal for your skin.

I have found that keeping skincare simple and consistent will ultimately give you better results. Keeping your skin from getting irritated and aggravated from mixing ingredients that may have adverse reaction in conjunction with each other is ideal and will ultimately result in clearer skin.

Spending extortionate amounts on money on skincare is also not necessary. You are likely to find true gems in your local pharmacy that will do the perfect job. I am typically quite fond of french pharmacy brands such as La Roche-Posay and Avene, due to their more delicate approach, however in this instance I had a wonderful surprise from Neutrogena with their Hydro Boost Range.

My initial venture with this line started with the Water Gel version of this product, however I found it to be a little too light. I have combination, dehydrated skin, so I do believe that it could work better if you suffer from oilier skin. But for me, I needed a little more from it and thats where the Gel Cream really steps it up. While still having a light, gel consistency, this provides more moisture to the skin.

The cream uses HYALURONIC ACID to boost moisture and PREBIOTICS to enhance the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid, with aid from its ANTIOXIDANT OLIVE EXTRACT to boost the skins capacity to repair and TREHALOSE for its capacity to lock in hydration.

The reason I absolutely love this cream is its ability to calm my skin down. It is extremely delicate and sinks in quite quickly. I find that whatever the issue seems to be with my skin, dryness, dehydration, bumps and breakouts, after I apply this cream at night, the following morning my skin is plump and clear, and while it is not an absolute miracle worker and does not make acne disappear, it does reduce inflammation and redness.

Not have I only become loyal to this product, but my partner has also. His skin has never been smoother and clearer since he started using this cream regularly. All I have to say is, I hope they never discontinue or reformulate this gem.

Honestly, in regards to the serum, I’d say take it or leave it. It didn’t make a real difference to my skin. It wasn’t bad but also not outstanding, the cream on its own does a marvellous job.

As you can see, I have nearly finished the product and I can say, this is not one I would go out and repurchase.

The eye-roll on though, in contrast to the serum is a definite standout. While I am not a devoted user of eye cream, a few months back I developed a few dry patches and irritation on the skin near my eye, and after trying a few different products in the hope it would help, nothing did except this. After a few days of use the dry patches had vanished and my skin was looking healthy again. So, while I am not great with eye creams, this is one I always keep on my bathroom cabinet and know I can rely on.

I definitely recommend this range. Having used the Gel Cream especially on a daily basis for about a year, and having nothing but positive results, I do not see myself going out of my way to find yet another product that may not work. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it right?
